The 1991 State Championship: Smith was a star forward for the legendary 1991 Springfield Central High School Golden Eagles. That team went 25-0, finished ranked #17 in the entire nation, and is widely considered the most dominant squad in Massachusetts high school history. [1, 2]
Elite Scoring Threat: While playing alongside future 10-year NBA veteran Travis Best and future UMass star Edgar Padilla, Smith was a powerhouse in his own right, averaging 20 points per game during their historic run. [1]
