Birth of Basketball is opening another door.

What started as a vision to tell the story of basketball: from its birthplace in Springfield, Massachusetts, to the people, places and legends who have carried the game around the world.

Birth of Basketball is proud to welcome Will Dawkins, Springfield native and Washington Wizards General Manager, as the first guest of the series.

And now, that journey is leading to an incredible new chapter.

I’m proud to announce that Stephen “Stix” Josey, CEO of Birth of Basketball, has been named Executive Producer of the upcoming Blacktop and Hip Hop Exhibit at the Basketball Hall of Fame.

This new exhibit will explore the evolution of outdoor basketball and the powerful connection between the blacktop and Hip Hop culture, the courts, the music, the artists, the players and the communities that helped shape a global cultural movement.

Birth of Basketball knows that sometimes one vision creates the opportunity to help tell another important chapter in the story of the game.

From the Birth of Basketball to Blacktop and Hip Hop at the Basketball Hall of Fame, I’m honored to be part of both.
